Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

About the role

The LPN will provide basic medical care to patients in an orthopedic clinic, maintaining professional nursing standards as per clinic policy and procedures. They will ensure the safe and efficient dispensing of medications as ordered by the physician.

Responsibilities

• Works under the supervision of the provider
• Maintains practical nursing professional standards of care
• Charts in notes accurately and in a timely manner
• Documents patient's provided care, progress, and activities accurately and in a timely manner
• Interviews patients and documents their basic medical history
• Organizes and schedules appointments
• Checks with patients and types up patient charts
• Produces and distributes correspondence, memos, letters, faxes, and forms
• Returns patient calls
• Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• One year of orthopedic experience preferred
• Training or experience treating patients in a clinical setting
• Cooperative work attitude towards co-employees, management, patients, visitors, and physicians
• Active LPN license in Mississippi
