About the role
Provides nursing care and coordinates medical/psychiatric care for Red Rock clients. Ensures continuity of care.
Responsibilities
- Performs nursing assessments to identify client needs and develop a care plan.
- Manages medication administration and ensures proper documentation.
- Monitors clients' reactions to medication and therapeutic procedures.
- Assists in the assessment of clients' mental status daily.
- Collaborates with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to manage client care.
- Develops and implements care plans for clients within the Red Rock Health Team.
- Assists in the development and implementation of programmatic goals and objectives.
- Maintains core competencies in working with co-occurring disorders through continuing education.
- Assists in the coordination of care between different healthcare providers and agencies.
- Assists in the assessment of clients' physical health needs and makes appropriate referrals.
- Manages the system for getting medications ordered and delivered to clients.
- Administers injectable medications and emergency medication as needed.
- Communicates with pharmacies regarding doctor's orders for medications.
- Documents care according to nursing standards and agency policies.
- Participates in staff meetings, workshops, and seminars to learn about agency policies, rules, regulations, and procedures.
- Assists in the development and implementation of programmatic goals and objectives.
- Supports and assists with the facilitation of Care Plans for consumers within the Red Rock Health Team.
Requirements
- Registered LPN in state of Oklahoma.
- Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills.
- Demonstrated experience in using physical assessment skills and handling medical emergencies.
- Able to work shift-work.
- Commitment to the mission of Red Rock BHS.
- One-year experience preferred.
- Knowledge and experience working with administration of psychotropic medications preferred.
- Knowledge of psychiatric nursing, practices, techniques, and procedures preferred.
- Experience working in a psychiatric setting preferred.
- Certification in mental health nursing preferred.
Qualifications
