Role Overview

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides patient-centered care under RN supervision, delivering age-appropriate interventions that address physical, emotional, developmental, psychosocial, and educational needs.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares patients for exams
  • Assists with treatments
  • Coordinates tests and follow-up care
  • Documents treatments accurately
  • Collaborates with the healthcare team to develop and revise care plans
  • Educates patients and caregivers on self-care
  • Participates in staff training and ongoing education
  • Serves as a preceptor for new staff
  • Performs delegated tasks within scope of practice

Qualifications & Skills

  • Must hold an active LPN license
  • Must have BLS certification
  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • PREFERRED: Experience in oncology or outpatient settings
  • KEY SKILLS: Leadership, problem-solving, organizational, assessment, communication, and computer proficiency

Additional Duties

  • Ensures compliance with policies
  • Participates in staff education
  • Maintains current clinical knowledge to support quality patient care

Qualifications
