Role Overview
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides patient-centered care under RN supervision, delivering age-appropriate interventions that address physical, emotional, developmental, psychosocial, and educational needs.
Responsibilities
- Prepares patients for exams
- Assists with treatments
- Coordinates tests and follow-up care
- Documents treatments accurately
- Collaborates with the healthcare team to develop and revise care plans
- Educates patients and caregivers on self-care
- Participates in staff training and ongoing education
- Serves as a preceptor for new staff
- Performs delegated tasks within scope of practice
Qualifications & Skills
- Must hold an active LPN license
- Must have BLS certification
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
- PREFERRED: Experience in oncology or outpatient settings
- KEY SKILLS: Leadership, problem-solving, organizational, assessment, communication, and computer proficiency
Additional Duties
- Ensures compliance with policies
- Participates in staff education
- Maintains current clinical knowledge to support quality patient care
Qualifications
