About the Role
Functions as a point person/coordinator of services for oncologists and oncology patients. Promotes the smooth transition of patient care from entry into the Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center system until completion of treatment and throughout the follow-up process. Assists designated physician(s) in a variety of professional and paraprofessional patient care activities as specified and requested.
Responsibilities
- Coordination of patient care services
- Specialized nursing care of oncology patients, including patient assessments, education, vital signs, meaningful use requirements, and e-scribing medications
- Phone triage
- Patient education
- Prep charts
- Scheduling PET and CT scans
Requirements
- Active LPN license in the state of Louisiana
- Active BLS CPR certification
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in nursing required; oncology experience preferred
Location
This position is primarily located at our clinic in Covington, LA but supports our clinic in Slidell, LA as needed. Candidates who can accommodate both locations will be considered first.
