About the role
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at The Laurels of Athens will provide skilled nursing and short-term rehabilitation care to guests, working as part of a compassionate team.
Responsibilities
- Plans, coordinates, provides, and manages nursing care services and health education to guests.
- Serves as a primary caregiver, supervising the care/services provided by Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA)/State-Tested Nursing Assistants (STNA) and other team members who care for guests.
- Provides safe and accurate medication-related interventions to guests.
- Affirms the health of guests and notifies the physician of changes in status. Implements new orders promptly.
- Selects and institutes appropriate nursing interventions to stabilize a guest’s condition and/or prevent complications.
- Contributes to the guest’s assessment (MDS/CAA’s) and the development of a plan of care.
Qualifications
- One to three years of experience in a long-term care setting is preferred.
- New graduates are welcome (we will provide training).
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) licensure in the state is required.
- CPR certification is required.
