Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

About the role

Hibbard Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center is a family-owned business since 1955, now in partnership with Eastern Maine Health Systems and First Atlantic Healthcare. Located in Dover-Foxcroft, Maine, the center offers quality care to the elderly and has a modern 93-bed facility on Guilford Road.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the cleanliness and comfort of each resident, including bathing, feeding and dressing
• Assist nursing and medical staff with basic medical tasks, such as administering medication
• Monitor resident’s vitals and record them in their file
• Update resident records in a confidential manner
• Evaluate the resident’s wellbeing, reporting any needs to medical staff
• Explain treatments and procedures to resident and families
• Change dressings and bandages, ensuring residents are healing properly
• Move residents from wheelchairs, beds and gurneys

Requirements

• Education: High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)
• Currently licensed as an LPN in Maine

Qualifications

• Ability to work under the direct supervision of the Director of Nursing (DON)
• Strong communication skills to interact with residents and families
• Physical stamina to perform daily tasks and assist residents

Pay

Hourly rate starts at $28.00 and increases with experience.
