Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

About the role

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at Greystone Healthcare Center coordinates and provides nursing care for residents and supervises and guides clinical staff members.

Responsibilities

• Documents the resident’s condition and nursing needs.
• Accurately and promptly implements physicians’ orders.
• Sets up nursing care for team members according to the resident's needs and their capabilities and qualifications.
• Supervises, directs, and evaluates junior staff members and Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs).
• Administers medications and performs treatments for assigned residents, and documents these treatments as required by the company, local, state, and federal rules and regulations.
• Participates in orientation and in-service training for personnel.
• Ensures that supplies are used efficiently and equipment is clean and maintained safely.
• Reports and records pertinent observations and reactions regarding residents.
• Collaborates with other departments to coordinate nursing care for residents during therapy or procedures.
• Interviews applicants and recommends hires.
• Participates in counseling, disciplinary actions, and terminations of staff, to the extent permitted by state practice acts.
• Schedules and directs the nursing staff to the extent permitted by state practice acts.
• Maintains inventory and supplies on the unit and communicates the need for housekeeping, maintenance, or dietary assistance.
• Performs other tasks as assigned.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited LPN/LVN school of nursing.
• Valid LPN/LVN license in the state employed.
• Valid CPR certification.
• One year experience in nursing preferred.

Pay

Starting wages range from $28.00 to $39.33 per hour, with a $5/hr weekend warrior program included in the wage calculation. Flexible pay options are available through UKG Wallet.

Schedule

Night shift full-time employment is offered with limited time availability.
