Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care within the scope of licensure.
- Obtain and document patient vital signs, medical histories, and health information.
- Administer medications, injections, immunizations, and treatments as prescribed.
- Auxiliary in examinations and clinical procedures under supervision.
- Collect specimens, perform wound care, and manage dressing changes.
- Educate patients on medications, treatment plans, preventive care, and lifestyle practices.
- Accurately document patient care in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
- Maintain vigilance over patient conditions and report changes promptly.
- Maintain infection prevention, patient safety, and quality standards.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team for coordinated, patient-centered care.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing program.
- Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the state of practice or eligibility for licensure.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Current CPR certification (if not included with BLS).
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred for specialty clinical assignments.
- Minimum of one (1) year of direct patient care experience within the past three (3) years.
- Experience in primary care, family medicine, internal medicine, medical-surgical, emergency department, telemetry, or critical care preferred.
- Proficiency using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and clinical documentation software.
- Strong clinical, communication, organizational, and patient care skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
- Excellent critical thinking, time management, and interpersonal skills.
- Authorized to work in the United States.
