Requirements
- Certification as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
- A caring and loving personality and demeanor
- Leadership and mentorship skills
- Ability to work your scheduled shift
- Ability to read, write, and speak English
Responsibilities
- Enhance the clinical care and quality of life of our residents while ensuring all resident rights are protected
- Prepare and administer medications as ordered by the physician
- Check all residents daily to ensure prescribed treatment is properly administered by nursing personnel/assistants and evaluate their physical and emotional status
- Keep the RN Supervisor informed about the status of residents, staff, and related matters
- Implement recommended changes as directed by the RN Supervisor or the Director of Nurses
- Administer professional services such as catheterization, tube feeding, suction, applying and changing dressings/bandages, packs, colostomy and drainage bags, taking blood, sputum, and urine specimens, etc., as established by the facility’s policies and procedures
- Complete all required record-keeping forms/charts upon the resident’s admission, discharge, transfer, etc., and file in the resident’s chart or forward to the appropriate department
- Give and receive nursing reports upon reporting in and ending shift duty hours
- Investigate complaints and grievances and make necessary oral/written reports to the RN Supervisor or Director of Nurses
- Present a professional image to residents and families through dress, behavior, and speech
