Essential Functions
- Communicates with physicians and develops working relationships with patients to evaluate their needs and create action plans.
- Prepares and administers medications and treatments, ensuring adherence to the purpose and adverse effects of the care provided.
- Assists with providing patient care by recording vital signs, discussing health concerns, performing tests, administering injections, and prescribed medications and treatments within the scope of practical nursing.
- Completes expanded assessments at the start of each new clinic encounter, interprets medical documents, facilitates investigations, medical and treatment referrals, and participates in the development and implementation of patient care policies and protocols.
- Helps patients understand their conditions and treatment options through education and literature, facilitating informed decision-making and explaining procedures and treatments to gain cooperation, understanding, and alleviate apprehension.
- Places phone calls to pharmacies to order prescriptions and sets up referral contacts.
- Coordinates the integration of social services and case management functions for patients who may benefit from counseling.
- Evaluates patient satisfaction and quality of care provided, maintaining awareness of comfort and safety needs of the patient.
- Promotes effective and efficient utilization of clinical resources and assists with any additional assigned duties.
Job Requirements and Qualifications
- Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Registration: Valid registration as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of Missouri.
- AHA Healthcare Provider training (BCLS).
Additional Information
- Clinic hours: Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
