About the role

Avery’s House is a mental-health treatment provider for adolescents. We are seeking an experienced, dependable, and responsible Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide daily support to adolescents living in our structured recovery housing. Experience working with adolescents is preferred; additional experience with mental health and substance abuse is beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate Avery’s House mission, purpose, values, and beliefs in everyday language and contact with clients
  • Establish and maintain a therapeutic relationship with clients
  • Provide nursing care and assist in the welcoming, admission, and discharge process
  • Collect data relevant to client’s care; develop and implement nursing care plans
  • Demonstrate knowledge of crisis management and intervention
  • Transcribe physician orders accurately and in a timely manner
  • Administer medication management policies and procedures
  • Notify the prescriber and nursing supervisor of any changes in behavior or condition
  • Document the progress of clients toward their recovery plan goals
  • Attend and participate in company meetings
  • Coordinate and participate in counting medications and giving report at the beginning and end of each shift

Duties and responsibilities may be added, deleted, and/or changed at the discretion of management.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited LPN program and current LPN licensure in state of operation
  • Current CPR/First Aid certificate
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Valid Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card (new applications may be submitted and in-process)
  • One year of experience in a related field; behavioral health experience preferred
  • Understanding of psychiatric illness and its treatment, and knowledge of psychotropic medication
  • Valid Driver’s License

Skills

  • Ability to review and implement Recovery/Treatment plans
  • Ability to support medical and psycho-social care of members served
  • Ability to administer oral and injectable medications
  • Ability to act as a team member, report observations and concerns, and ask appropriate questions
  • Ability to implement physical crisis and de-escalation techniques

  • Must be able to walk, bend, stand, climb stairs

Pay

From $35.00 per hour

Schedule

  • Thursday, Friday, Saturday
  • 12-hour shifts: 7AM – 7PM

Job Type: Full-time

Work Location: In person, Apache Junction, AZ
