About the role

The Support Nurse (LPN) provides direct resident care and short-term clinical support to Assisted Living communities as assigned. This role supports continuity of care, staff supervision, and resident well-being while ensuring compliance with state regulations, Americare policies, and best practices in person-centered care.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care to residents during short-term assignments
  • Support a home-like, person-centered care environment
  • Supervise and support caregiving staff to meet residents’ physical, psychological, and social needs
  • Assist with resident assessments, care planning, and monitoring of changes in condition
  • Administer medications and treatments per physician orders and established protocols
  • Collaborate with community leadership and senior leadership during assigned support periods
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
  • Promote resident dignity, safety, and quality of life

Requirements

  • Graduate of an approved school of nursing
  • Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) license required
  • Maintains current state registration and required continuing education
  • Experience in assisted living, memory care, or long-term care preferred
  • Strong clinical judgment and adaptability
  • Ability to supervise staff and work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to passion for senior care and resident-centered service

  • Flexibility to support multiple communities as needed

Qualifications

  • Lift up to 25 lbs. and assist with resident transfers as needed
  • Push, pull, and maneuver up to 100 lbs., including resident mobility assistance
  • Maneuver resident wheelchairs weighing up to 350 lbs.

Pay

$31.25 to $33.65, mileage & hotel reimbursement, OT eligible, no on-call requirement

Schedule

Days (some travel and overnights required)
