Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

STAR is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting individuals of all ages with intellectual and developmental disabilities, while also providing valuable services and resources to their families throughout lower Fairfield County.

About the role

We are seeking a compassionate and energetic LPN to provide dedicated 1:1 nursing support to a wonderful young woman with Down Syndrome and Type 1 Diabetes in a community-based day program.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care throughout program hours using the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the individual's needs.
• Partner with the Site Manager to coordinate the individual's daily schedule and activities.
• Support participation in educational, recreational, and community-based activities based on the individual's interests, such as art, cooking, yoga, bowling, and more.
• Provide transportation support to and from local community activities as needed.

Requirements

• Current, active Connecticut LPN license required.
• Experience supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities is preferred.
• Valid driver's license required.

Pay

$30.00/hour

Schedule

• Stable Monday-Friday position with no weekends, shift work, or mandatory overtime.
• Regular schedule: 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
• Day program is closed on major holidays.
