Schedule

• Weekends: 11pm–7am and 3pm–11pm
• Full-time: 7am–3pm, Monday–Friday

Responsibilities

• Supervise HHAs, CNAs, and facility staff
• Make daily rounds of all Assisted Living residents and retirement residents if needed
• Observe and report symptoms and conditions of patients to Director of Wellness (DOW), Delegating R.N., or Physician
• Administer medications and treatments per signed doctor’s orders in an accurate, safe manner; observe effectiveness and report to physician if needed
• Inform DOW when supplies and equipment are needed
• Order medication from pharmacy when needed
• Supervise Home Health Aides to ensure all nursing care is given properly, safely, and of the utmost quality
• Administer emergency first aid
• Ensure daily assignments for patient care and incidental duties performed by nurses and HHAs (as outlined by DOW) are carried out, including documentation (e.g., vitals, weights, nurse’s notes, medication, kardex)
• Make daily rounds of all patients and areas; recognize, interpret, and report conditions to DOW/RN/Executive Director as needed
• Maintain cleanliness and neatness of nurse’s station, med room, and cart
• Assist in the orientation of new staff
• Complete admission and discharge evaluations as necessary
• Check equipment for cleanliness and condition
• Provide guidance for nursing assistants
• Promote and maintain good interpersonal relationships with residents, visitors, and personnel
• Perform related work as required per assignment
• Understand duties and responsibilities apply to both assisted living and independent residents throughout the facility

Note: The above duties include many tasks for LPNs. At times, it may be necessary to perform other duties as requested by the Director of Wellness. Refusal to perform any task as directed by leadership will be cause for disciplinary action.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited professional nursing program, currently licensed to practice per state
• Work experience in the geriatric field
• Ability to communicate well and in writing
• Ability to deal with visitors, staff, and residents in a courteous manner
• Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 60 lbs
• Strong organizational skills
• Must be able to work under pressure at times
• Must maintain good grooming practices, personal hygiene, and be punctual and regular in attendance
• Must have a warm, friendly, congenial personality and present a professional appearance
• Must possess an empathetic attitude toward seniors
• Ability to assess a resident’s condition and intervene when needed
• CPR certified (or obtained within 90 days of hire and yearly thereafter)
• May have their picture taken and image used in social media or community advertising
• May be video recorded from devices installed by families in residents’ apartments
