Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

Job Summary

Responsibilities

• Supervise and monitor nursing staff to obtain highest quality care.
• Make daily rounds of all residents.
• Observe and report symptoms and conditions to the Director of Wellness.
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely.
• Order medication from the pharmacy when needed.
• Supervise Home Health Aides to ensure proper care is given.
• Perform emergency first aid.
• Maintain cleanliness and neatness of the nurse’s station, med room, and cart.
• Complete admission and discharge evaluations as necessary.
• Assist in the orientation of new staff.
• Perform related work as required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited professional nursing program, currently licensed to practice per state.
• Work experience in the geriatric field.
• Communicate well and in writing.
• Deal with visitors, staff, and residents courteously.
• Lift, push, pull up to 60 lbs.
• Organize tasks effectively.
• Work under pressure.
• Present a professional appearance and possess an empathetic attitude towards seniors.
• Able to assess a resident’s condition and intervene when needed.
• CPR certified, or obtain certification within 90 days of hire and annually thereafter.
