Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - Assisted Living- Glen Eddy

Position Summary

LPNs (Licensed Practical Nurses) are responsible for medications, treatments, and staff oversight under the direction of the RN. In this position you will bring trust, comfort, and empathy to all resident interactions and make a positive difference in the lives of our residents.

Core Competencies

• Provides direct and indirect care under the direction of an RN including procedures, treatments, and related duties as assigned and within the NYS Scope of Practice for an LPN
• Delivers compassionate, person-centered care while fostering a sense of dignity and independence for each resident
• Conducts daily medication pass with accuracy and care in accordance with physician orders and facility guidelines
• Provides leadership for the care team during your shift, including guidance and support
• Works closely with resident assistants, other nurses, and management in a cooperative, respectful environment
• Consults with the RN on any changes in a care plan or schedule and communicates with patients and their families about their care plan
• Observes, measures, records, and reports clinical data relating to each resident's health status within licensure requirements
• Attends and actively participates in in-servicing, orienting, and educational activities

Education Requirements

• Must be a high school graduate
• Must graduate from a nursing education program acceptable to the New York State Education Department (NYSED)
• Must be licensed with current registration in New York
• Must be able to stand, walk, and lift for long periods of time
• Must read and write using medical terminology
• Must have a working knowledge of computers including electronic medication administration records, processing of orders, checking email, and performing required in-servicing, along with use of other required applications
• Maintain visual and auditory acuity adequate to perform observations and patient care
• Maintain composure and positivity in a high stress environment
• Work with residents in a highly personal manner during stages of acute and chronic illness

Pay Range

Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
