About the role

The LPN is responsible for providing holistic nursing care to clients in the Agency’s Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility (PRTF). The LPN will develop therapeutic relationships with residential clients, provide quality patient care, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team in evaluating the client’s treatment process. The LPN is supervised by the PRTF Nurse Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Assist providers, registered nurses, and other health care professionals with examinations, treatments, and procedures.
  • Obtain patient health history, laboratory specimens, and vital signs within your scope of practice.
  • Implement provider orders, administer medication, and document administration as ordered.
  • Submit regular reports to the provider as requested.
  • Utilize knowledge of medications (psychotropic and other) in the treatment process and educate clients and residential staff regarding medications and client health care needs.
  • Adapt to changing situations and/or work assignments, providing services to both behavioral health and autism residential treatment areas.
  • Consult with PRTF staff to ensure quality client care.
  • Collect objective and subjective client data, report symptoms, reactions, treatments, and changes in client's conditions to the registered nurse or provider.
  • Complete and maintain documentation to record client data, reactions, and/or changes in conditions.
  • Utilize therapeutic verbal and non-verbal techniques with clients as needed.
  • Utilize Safety Care procedures, including initiating and conducting the Floor Drop Transition and other de-escalation, physical safety, and physical management procedures for safety due to imminent risk of harm.
  • Coordinate client transfers to outside health care providers or medical facilities.
  • Participate in training and orientation of new employees of the residential health clinic.
  • Maintain proper use and storage of all medical supplies and equipment.
  • Perform other related duties related to the delivery of services within the PRTF.
  • Attend scheduled staff meetings, supervision, and ongoing training.
  • Keep all required trainings, certifications, and licensure current in accordance with applicable licensing and accreditation regulations.
  • Respect the privacy of clients and maintain confidentiality of all information obtained during treatment.
  • Maintain high standards of ethical and professional conduct and adhere to Agency policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Practical Nursing.
  • Valid Ohio Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license.
  • Previous experience in behavioral health or providing direct care to individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred.

Pay

Salary Range is $33 per hour depending on relevant education, experience, and licensure.

Schedule

4 days, 10 hours per day, 5PM - 10PM.
