Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)- Adolescent Behavioral Health

Duties

• Demonstrates the Avery’s House mission, purpose, values, and beliefs in everyday language and contact with clients.
• Establishes and maintains a therapeutic relationship with clients.
• Provides nursing care and assists in the welcoming, admission, and discharge process.
• Collects data relevant to client’s care; develops and implements nursing care plans.
• Demonstrates knowledge of crisis management and intervention.
• Transcribes physician orders accurately and in a timely manner.
• Notifies the prescriber and nursing supervisor of any changes in behavior or condition.
• Documents the progress of clients toward their recovery plan goals.
• Attends and participates in company meetings.
• Coordinates and participates in counting medications and giving report at the beginning and end of each shift.

Qualifications and Required Skills

• Ability to review and implement Recovery/Treatment plans.
• Ability to support medical and psycho-social care of members served.
• Ability to administer oral and injectable medications.
• Ability to act as a team member and provide input via reporting observations and concerns and ask appropriate questions.
• Ability to review and implement client recovery treatment plans.
• Ability to implement physical crisis and de-escalation techniques.

Education and Experience

• Graduation from an accredited LPN program and current LPN licensure in state of operation.
• Current CPR/FA certificate.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Valid Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card.
• If it is a new application, can be submitted and in-process.
• One year of experience in related field, Behavioral health: 1 year (Preferred).
• Understanding of psychiatric illness and its treatment, and knowledge of psychotropic medication.
• Valid Driver’s License.

Physical Demands

• Must be able to walk, bend, stand, climb stairs, speak English, hear, use a telephone, drive an automobile, and operate standard office equipment, such as a computer, copier, and fax machine.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.

Schedule

• Thursday, Friday, Saturday
• We run 12 hour shifts 7AM - 7PM

Pay

From $35.00 per hour
