LICENSED PRACTICAL NURSE I-II
About the role
The New Hampshire Veterans Home is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse I-II to join our dedicated team. This position offers a competitive salary range of $31.11 - $51.02 per hour, along with a Direct Care & Nursing Stipend up to $25.00/week.
Responsibilities
- Documents nursing care in residents' records, indicating problems, progress, and actions taken.
- Administers prescribed medications and makes notations before and after, ensuring proper medication management.
- Utilizes the nursing process to write individual Plan-of-Care updates and revisions based on resident status.
- Supervises nursing assistants and makes rounds to ensure quality care, cleanliness, and resident safety.
- Reports routine and unusual situations to the nurse manager and ensures continuous care coordination.
- Communicates with physicians and allied health professionals to provide comprehensive care.
- Supports residents with direct ADL care, transfers, and lifting, and educates them about their care plans.
- Briefs family members/guardians on resident care, progress, and changes, ensuring continuity of information.
- Admits, transfers, and discharges residents as directed by the physician to ensure timely medical care.
- Maintains competency in CPR techniques and collaborates with healthcare providers to meet residents' health needs.
Requirements
- LPN I: Completion of a recognized school of practical nursing and no prior experience required.
- LPN II: Completion of a recognized school of practical nursing, three years of experience as a LPN, and certification by NFLPN, Inc.
Qualifications
- LPN I: Current license as a practical nurse or temporary permit pending licensing exam.
- LPN II: Current license as a practical nurse and certification by NFLPN, Inc.
Skills
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge of nursing processes and resident care protocols
- CPR certification

Pay
The starting hourly rate for this position is $31.11, with a potential Direct Care & Nursing Stipend up to $25.00/week.
Schedule
The proposed schedule includes two 12-hour shifts (7:00pm - 7:00am) with an additional $4.00/hour, two 8-hour shifts (11:00pm - 7:00am) with an additional $7.00/hour, and rotating weekends with an additional $2.00/hour.
