Founded in 1921, Straub Benioff Medical Center includes a 159-bed hospital in Honolulu, a network of neighborhood clinics, and a visiting specialist program that covers throughout the state of Hawai'i. With over 200 physicians who are leaders in their fields, Straub provides its patients with diagnoses and treatments for more than 32 different medical specialties, including bone and joint, heart, cancer, endocrinology/diabetes, family medicine, gastroenterology, geriatric medicine, internal medicine, vascular and urology. Straub is home to the Pacific Region’s only multidisciplinary burn treatment center. The hospital consistently brings new technologies and innovative medical practices to Hawai'i, such as minimally invasive cardiac surgery and total joint replacement.
Responsibilities
- Assist physicians in providing care to patients of all ages in accordance with standards of practice and training for a Licensed Practical Nurse.
- Provide compassionate, high quality care to patients and their families.
- Communicate effectively with patients and their families.
- Follow current procedural terminology (CPT) and International Classification of Diseases 9th edition (ICD-9) coding.
- Use online medical software systems as needed.
Requirements
- Current Hawai’i Licensed Practical Nurse license.
- Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR card.
- One (1) year recent Licensed Practical Nurse experience in area of specialty or successful completion of area specific training program.
- Experience with online medical software systems.
Qualifications
Knowledge of Current Procedural Terminology (CPT)/International Classification of Diseases 9th edition (ICD-9) coding.
Skills
Warm, sensitive patient care and communication skills.
