About the role
Provide direct patient care in a dialysis setting under the supervision of a registered nurse. Perform tasks such as preparing dialysis machines, monitoring patients during treatments, and assisting with patient education.
Responsibilities
- Prepare dialysis machines according to manufacturer’s guidelines and hospital policies.
- Maintain sterile technique during patient care activities.
- Monitor patients during dialysis treatments and report any changes in condition to the supervising RN.
- Assist patients with their dialysis treatments, including positioning, hydration, and medication administration.
- Document patient care activities accurately and timely.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development activities.
Requirements
- Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the state of Wisconsin.
- At least one year of recent dialysis nursing experience.
- Basic computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred but not required.
- Experience with patient education and counseling.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Skills
- Proficiency with dialysis equipment and procedures.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
