About the role
The Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education seeks a Licensed Practical Nurse to support schools for the Severely Disabled.
Responsibilities
- Cook up and implement a health screening plan.
- Coordinate and execute special health care procedures.
- Train on lifting techniques, basic first aid, infection control, medication administration, CPR, and other in-services as needed.
- Administer medications and other health care procedures based on doctor's orders.
- Participate in staffing and Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings to share the student's physical and health needs.
- Take charge in developing and implementing a comprehensive school health plan.
- Accurately fill out required reports on or before the set deadlines.
- Collaborate with the building administrator to keep the school environment orderly, attractive, safe, and clean.
- Maintain CPR training instructor certification and basic CPR certification.
- Preserve confidentiality of personal information regarding parents, students, and staff.
Requirements
- Must be licensed as a Licensed Practical Nurse in Missouri.
- Experience with pediatrics and/or individuals with disabilities is preferred.
Qualifications
- Professional license pursuant to state law required.
Skills
- Proficiency in pediatric care and/or working with disabled individuals.
- Strong organizational and administrative skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Pay
The salary range for this position is $38,208. Applicants eligible for years-of-service adjustments or shift differentials may earn more than this range.
