LICENSED PRACTICAL NURSE - BRIAR CREEK at THE BARCLAY

About the Role

Assists in direction of nursing services for a unit/hall, in accordance with the Nursing Practice Act, and under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Delegates duties to professional and non-professional nursing personnel and monitors work performance. Observes patients for symptoms and/or reactions, including general physical and/or mental condition for signs which may indicate adverse change.

Responsibilities

• Assist with notifying attending physician of emergencies and patient deaths in the unit.
• Implement changes in orders as instructed or directed by physicians.
• Provide quality nursing care to patients and follow doctors’ orders.
• Serve as charge nurse and work as needed during emergencies to ensure adequate coverage.
• Attend in-service training and staff meetings as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school graduate.
• Graduated from an accredited School of Nursing as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
• Current, valid license from the North Carolina Board of Nursing; proof of license renewal required every other year.
• CPR certified yearly.
• Genuine interest in geriatric nursing.
