About the role
Provide direct resident care including medication administration and treatments, assist with medical assessments and physicians, and support daily clinic operations.
Responsibilities
- Obtain assessment data (i.e. vital signs, weight, and blood sugar measurements, etc.)
- Assess, implement, evaluate, and/or re-evaluate resident care needs and provides care accordingly.
- Complete documentation of assessment results, interventions, outcomes and resident interactions in a timely manner; Maintain medical records.
- Coordinate services with external and internal resources, vendors and consultants to meet resident needs
- Act as a resource for staff and families concerning resident care needs and keeps interdisciplinary team informed as appropriate
- Assist physician and other nursing staff with treatments
- Administer medications to ensure residents receive medications as prescribed by physician and document accordingly
- Process charges for clinic services, equipment and supplies according to established protocol
- Respond to phone alarms to assist residents who may need emergency care
- Participate and comply with all internal (CQI) and external regulatory requirements.
- Provide pre-employment screening to applicants and new employees.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Schedule
2 days on / 2 days off rotating schedule with 12-hour shifts (8:00 a.m.–8:00 p.m.), including every other weekend (Friday–Sunday).
Requirements
- Valid license as a Practical Nurse in the State of Virginia in good standing
- One year of long-term care nursing experience
- CPR, AED and First Aid Certification
Qualifications
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Strong clinical assessment skills
- Patient care techniques
Desired experience
- One-year long term care and or physician outpatient office experience.
- Experience administering and reading Tuberculosis (TB) skin tests
Pay
The hiring range for this position is $23.75 to $34.07. Actual compensation depends on experience, skills, and internal equity.
