Licensed Practical Nurse
Requirements
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited practical/vocational nursing program.
- Current license as an LPN in the Commonwealth of PA.
- Preferably, at least one year of experience as an LPN.
- Genuine interest in working with individuals with physical and developmental disabilities.
- Possession of a current and valid PA driver's license, along with reliable transportation (may be required).
- Physical capability to comfortably exert up to 50lbs occasionally, and/or up to 20lbs frequently, and/or up to 10lbs continuously.
Responsibilities
Your responsibilities will include:
- Traveling to our group homes, conducting nursing assessments on residents to identify for signs and symptoms of illness, and reporting findings to the nursing supervisor.
- Identifying health issues and following through to resolution, while documenting all actions.
- Reviewing, transcribing, and administering physician’s orders accurately.
- Collaborating with various healthcare professionals and specialists to coordinate care, while keeping the nursing supervisor informed.
- Providing health education to residents and their families.
- Conducting effective in-service training for staff to ensure compliance with protocols and procedures.
- Utilizing the least restrictive approaches to behavior management and demonstrating knowledge of psychiatric emergencies.
- Responding effectively to emergency situations in a calm, constructive, and positive manner.
- Performing general nursing duties, including traveling to group homes as a visiting nurse, conducting quarterly physical assessments, and monthly breast exams.
