About the role

The Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) provides direct rehabilitation care under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist in a skilled nursing facility setting.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and follow physical therapy treatment plans for patients.
  • Assist patients in achieving functional progress and improving quality of life.
  • Chart patient progress accurately and timely using therapy software.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including nursing and medical staff.
  • Participate in community health initiatives and ensure safety and sanitation standards.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to company policies and legal regulations.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, integrity, and excellent customer service.
  • Assist in patient evacuation and ensure dependable attendance.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited physical therapy assistant program.
  • Active license or registration in the applicable state.
  • CPR certification (obtained during orientation if not already certified).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and email communication.
  • Strong communication, decision-making, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to perform physical activities such as lifting, standing, and walking.
