About the role
The Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) provides direct rehabilitation care under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist in a skilled nursing facility setting.
Responsibilities
- Implement and follow physical therapy treatment plans for patients.
- Assist patients in achieving functional progress and improving quality of life.
- Chart patient progress accurately and timely using therapy software.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including nursing and medical staff.
- Participate in community health initiatives and ensure safety and sanitation standards.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to company policies and legal regulations.
- Demonstrate professionalism, integrity, and excellent customer service.
- Assist in patient evacuation and ensure dependable attendance.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited physical therapy assistant program.
- Active license or registration in the applicable state.
- CPR certification (obtained during orientation if not already certified).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and email communication.
- Strong communication, decision-making, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to perform physical activities such as lifting, standing, and walking.
