About the role

The Optical Specialist role at Eyeglass World is customer-facing and integral to the in-store experience. This position combines optical support, finishing excellence, and customer connection to deliver consistent, high-quality experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Create an exceptional customer experience by delivering warm, confident, and personalized service at every stage of the visit.
  • Guide customers through eyewear selection, final fitting, and product education.
  • Ensure customers leave feeling confident in both their eyewear and their experience.
  • Support clinical and in-store flow by assisting with patient flow and pre-exam screenings to support optometrists.
  • Help ensure smooth transitions between exam, finish, and pickup moments.
  • Serve as a calm, knowledgeable presence throughout the customer journey.
  • Own finish and quality excellence by performing finishing work including final adjustments, inspections, and quality checks.
  • Achieve all eyewear meets Eyeglass World standards for fit, function, and presentation.
  • Prepare orders for pickup and deliver a polished, brand-aligned handoff.
  • Operate with precision and care by supporting order entry, tracking, and timely completion.
  • Maintain organized, clean, and efficient finish and retail areas.
  • Identify and resolve quality or service issues proactively.
  • Bring the brand to life by modeling Eyeglass World service standards, tone, and behaviors in every interaction.
  • Uphold visual, experiential, and operational brand standards in the store.
  • Partner with the store team to deliver a consistent and elevated experience.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 1+ year experience in optical, retail, sales, or customer service.
  • Active dispensing license as required by the state.
  • Strong multitasking, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Clear communication and the ability to educate customers effectively.
  • Ability to prioritize customer satisfaction at every interaction.
  • Support store team in shared goals.
  • Bilingual abilities (preferred).
