About the role

The General Manager at America’s Best is responsible for leading the store’s operations, ensuring high levels of customer and patient satisfaction, and driving sales and profitability.

Responsibilities

  • Oversight of all daily store operations, including staffing, inventory management, bookkeeping, planning, and enforcement of company policies.
  • Leadership, training, and development of associates through consistent coaching, feedback, and growth opportunities.
  • Monitoring store performance and guiding associates to deliver outstanding customer and patient experiences.
  • Partnering with the Doctor to ensure every patient receives the highest level of care.
  • Conducting store audits and upholding quality, merchandising, and service standards.
  • Maintaining open communication with the District Manager and providing accurate reporting.
  • Ensuring the store and facility meet all corporate and safety standards.
  • Executing marketing, merchandising, and promotional initiatives according to brand standards.
  • Managing budgets, supplies, and inventory to meet financial goals.
  • Recruiting, hiring, and retaining top talent, creating schedules based on business needs and store traffic.
  • Leading by example, coaching your team toward sales and service excellence.
  • Providing clear, timely feedback and performance evaluations, while addressing issues proactively.
  • Ensuring compliance with company policies and maintaining accurate associate files and records.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of retail experience. Supervising experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of the optical industry is preferred.
  • ABO & NCLE Certified (Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred).
  • Proven ability to lead, coach, and build strong associate relationships.
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Solid understanding of store operations and business performance.
