About the role

The Licensed Optician delivers the LensCrafters brand value proposition and helps establish the store as the premier destination for all vision needs within the community. You will create exceptional value for customers by providing legendary service and perfectly crafted, high-quality eyewear that exceeds expectations.

Responsibilities

• Welcome all customers and set clear expectations.
• Custom fit glasses and precisely place prescriptions in lenses.
• Act as a leader in optical expertise, taking and recording measurements, adjusting and fitting eyewear with attention to detail, and ensuring finished eyewear meets standards and customer needs.
• Assist the team with complex product needs and prescriptions.
• Use technology accurately and thoroughly despite time pressure and customer volume; demonstrate exceptional product knowledge and proper tool use.
• Proactively explore root causes of issues, ensure customer satisfaction, and exceed expectations with solution-driven approaches.
• Multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively with competing demands.
• Strive to achieve exceptional results on Brand KPIs and competencies.
• Maintain store appearance—keep the store clean, attractive, and organized.
• Inform management of safety opportunities and demonstrate safe work practices.
• Stay resourceful, self-motivated, and committed to continual learning, improvement, and results.
• Adhere to company policies and procedures, including discounts, promotions, and inventory management.

Requirements

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• State licensure as an Optician.
• Optical dispensing experience.
• Strong customer service skills: communication, listening, and teamwork.
• Knowledge of current store merchandise.
• Strong basic math skills.
• Awareness of current fashion trends.
• Selling skills—ability to use and carry an iPad/tablet.
• Familiarity with POS systems, computers, and calculators.
• Embrace new technology and change.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous customer service and retail experience.
