Helen Porter Rehabilitation & Nursing is an attractive, secure residence where loved ones are assured of skilled nursing care and assistance with daily living and where privacy is honored and individuality respected. Nestled in the farmlands of Middlebury, Helen Porter has accommodations for 105 people, is licensed by the State of Vermont and certified by Medicare and Medicaid. Helen Porter is a skilled and intermediate care residence which specializes in providing a home‑like environment including memory care neighborhoods (Lemon Fair Lane and Waits River Way), long‑term care neighborhood (Otter Creek Place), post‑acute/rehabilitation neighborhood (short‑term care), respite care services, and ARCH hospice end‑of‑life care.
Responsibilities
Assist in providing nursing care and related non‑professional services to residents by performing tasks for which the employee has been prepared as competent and in a manner that meets or exceeds state, federal, and facility expectations.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent preferred
- Completion of state‑approved training and competency evaluation
- LNA with good work history in similar facilities preferred, or enrollment in an LNA program
- Able to read, write, and speak English
- Able to communicate and work effectively with others
Benefits
A $1,000 LNA sign‑on bonus (subject to applicable taxes) is available for this position. The first half is payable after successful completion of the probationary period (typically 90 days), and the second half is payable after six months. Current UVMHN employees are not eligible for this bonus.
