About the role

The Licensed Mental Health Therapist provides counseling sessions with patients enrolled in Psychedelic, PTSD, Depression and/or Anxiety studies at the Coastal Carolina Research Center in Charleston, SC. Responsibilities include conducting initial and ongoing assessments, maintaining records, and ensuring adherence to safety protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Meets with patients to provide initial and ongoing counseling sessions according to study protocols.
  • Makes initial and ongoing assessments.
  • Maintains records of client meetings and progress.
  • Fulfills safety protocols.
  • Completes all sponsor-assigned training and meetings to obtain rater certification and re-certification according to protocols requirements.
  • Attends and successfully completes all company training programs; participates in webinars and other study meetings as needed.
  • Maintains confidentiality of subjects, customers and company information.
  • Works in a positive, results-oriented work environment, builds partnerships within the team and across the organization at large, and models teamwork.
  • Performs all other duties that may be requested or assigned.

Requirements

  • A Master’s degree in counseling or similar and 2+ years’ experience in counseling with PTSD, Depression, and Anxiety, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
  • An active, unrestrictive license as a mental health counselor (LMHC, LCSW, LPC, or similar) in the state of work is required.
  • Bi-lingual (English / Spanish) proficiency is a plus.

Skills, Knowledge And Expertise

  • Proficiency with computer applications such as Microsoft applications, email, electronic health records, and web applications, and the ability to type proficiently (40+ wpm).
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
  • Well-developed interpersonal and listening skills and the ability to work well independently as well as with co-workers, subjects, managers, and external customers.
  • Ability to effectively handle multiple tasks, and adapt to changes in workloads and priorities.
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision, identify problems and implement solutions.
  • Ability to handle highly sensitive information in a confidential and professional manner, and in compliance with HIPAA guidelines.
