Job Summary

We are seeking a Licensed Mental Health Professional to join our Adult PHP program delivering high-quality group and individual psychotherapy using evidence informed approaches for patients experiencing acute and complex behavioral health needs. The ideal candidate has advanced expertise in Evidence Based Practices including Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. Additionally, this candidate is collaborative, driven to continuously grow and refine programming, and innovative in care delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provides initial assessment and develops plan of care according to TN Department of Mental Health, The Joint Commission and CMS Best Practice Guidelines and within the scope of their license by the Tennessee Health Related Boards.
  • Provides targeted evidence based interventions into clinical practice with patients.
  • Facilitates transitions to appropriate levels of care via in person, telephone or telehealth contact.
  • Acts as clinical liaison with patient, family, treatment team and community.
  • Contributes to the organization by actively participating in process improvement initiatives and shared decision making.
  • Maintains professional documentation which meets department and VUMC standards as it relates to compliance.
  • Provides leadership and supervision within scope of license to meet departmental needs.
  • Maintains confidentiality and privilege in accordance with TN state codes and statutes.

Technical Capabilities

  • Crisis Intervention (Intermediate): Demonstrates mastery of crisis intervention in practical applications of a difficult nature.
  • Clinical Counseling (Intermediate): Demonstrates mastery of clinical counseling in practical applications of a difficult nature.
  • Patient Assessment (Intermediate): Demonstrates mastery of patient assessments in practical applications of a difficult nature.
  • Patient Diagnosis (Intermediate): Demonstrates mastery of patient diagnosis in practical applications of a difficult nature.
  • Patient Documentation (Intermediate): Demonstrates mastery of patient documentation in practical applications of a difficult nature.
