About the role
The Licensed Mental Health Professional (LMHP) plays a crucial role in the Behavioral Health department of COFMC. They work with clients to resolve interpersonal conflicts and alleviate psychosocial stressors, contributing to improved daily functioning.
Responsibilities
- Conduct initial BH screenings and psychosocial assessments on all new clients under the supervision of the BH Director.
- Prepare and conduct initial client treatment plans and treatment reviews every (3-6) months, which are client-specific, goal-oriented, and include measurable objectives and mental health diagnoses.
- Complete client discharge summaries within 30 days of care termination.
- Provide clinical case management services, individual therapy, and family therapy to clients meeting BH Department admission criteria.
- Document services using an electronic health record (EHR) in the appropriate template, according to Behavioral Health department practices, in a timely and efficient manner.
- Aid in the processing of all referrals received and attend all required meetings, trainings, and events.
Qualifications
- Master’s Degree from an accredited university in Social Work (clinical specialty only) or another Human Services field, and current license as Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Professional Counselor, or Licensed Behavioral Professional.
- On-site supervision available for social workers seeking or eligible for licensure.
- Knowledge of current social and economic problems, principles of family economics and budgeting, human relations, community, state, and national health and welfare resources, social assistance requirements, and psychological terminology.
- Ability to demonstrate knowledge base as indicated by the COFMC Competency Assessment for Behavioral Healthcare Practitioners.
- Knowledge of emergency procedures, clinical policies and procedures, and infection control procedures.
