Pay

Full-Time: $80,000 to $92,000 annually

Part-Time Hourly Rate: $52.50 - $62.50 (Open to Negotiate)

Part-time and 1099 hire available.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and monitor the Mental Health Program to include staff development, mental health counseling of students, TEAP program counseling, according to the Job Corps federal regulations and the Policy and Requirements Handbook.
  • Provide on-call mental health services for emergencies, 24-hours a day, 7 days a week. Services may be provided by phone or in person.
  • Choose arrangements for services on behalf of the center.
  • Responsible for the development, implementation, and monitoring of the center’s Mental Health Program, including supervision of all mental health interns and employees.
  • Advise the Center Director and Health Services staff of all mental health matters.
  • Conduct staff development and training in the use of mental health principles and techniques.
  • Provide consultation with Health Services staff and all other appropriate staff concerning student mental health issues.
  • Develop constructive programs for meeting students’ mental health issues and work with center disciplinary, maximum benefits, intergroup relations, and the AODA prevention programs.
  • Document and submit forms and correspondence to local, state, and federal agencies to meet all program requirements.
  • Issue and maintain Standing Orders on all mental health issues as required by the National Job Corps program.
  • Provide evaluation and diagnostic services to inpatient or outpatient students; provide limited psychiatric treatment as permitted by licensure.
  • Arrange off-center referrals and treatments as needed according to National Job Corps directives; provide documentation and referrals for students who are recommended for termination from the program.

Requirements

  • Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Psychiatrist, Clinical Psychologist, or Psychiatric Social Worker license acceptable. Must be licensed in the state of Iowa.
  • Experience working with disadvantaged youth; Job Corps experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of mental health issues of disadvantaged youth.
  • 1 year of experience as a licensed independent practitioner providing assessment and treatment services to adolescents and young adults.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule.
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record preferred.
  • Required to pass a drug screen in compliance with our Substance Abuse and Drug-Free Workplace policy.
  • Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a nationwide criminal background check.
