About the role

The Licensed Masters Social Worker at Mercy Gilbert Medical Center performs critical social work assessments and interventions for inpatient, outpatient, and Emergency Department patients. Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing treatment plans that integrate medical, social, and resource issues
  • Establishing and maintaining professional relationships with physicians, case managers, nursing staff, community resources, patients, and families
  • Serving on hospital committees and presenting in-services to Hospital staff
  • Participating in performance improvement teams and programs as necessary
  • Contributing to interdisciplinary care teams and crisis intervention efforts
  • Managing psychosocial care, including crisis intervention, counseling, and referrals for diverse issues like abuse, family challenges, and grief
  • Actively coordinating community resources to address social determinants of health such as homelessness
  • Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure adherence to federal, state, and regulatory guidelines

  • Serving on hospital committees and developing and presenting in-services to Hospital staff
  • Participating in performance improvement teams and programs as necessary
  • Contributing to interdisciplinary care teams and crisis intervention efforts
  • Managing psychosocial care, including crisis intervention, counseling, and referrals for diverse issues like abuse, family challenges, and grief
  • Actively coordinating community resources to address social determinants of health such as homelessness
  • Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure adherence to federal, state, and regulatory guidelines

Requirements

Required:

  • 1-Year Post-MSW experience or Social Work internship in a clinical or medical setting
  • Master Social Worker: AZ
  • Master's Degree from a School of Social work accredited by the Council of Social Work Education
  • Ability to work independently as needed with a high degree of detail orientation
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
  • Ability to work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary care team

Preferred

  • Minimum 3-Year Post-MSW healthcare experience

Pay

The posted compensation range of $35.62 - $52.99 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. CommonSpirit may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law.

Schedule

This role is central to crisis intervention, patient advocacy, and ensuring developmentally appropriate care across all served populations, from mentally ill to chronically ill. The role operates on a 48-hour weekly schedule, specifically Thursday-Friday (1800-0630), with a weekend night shift.
