Licensed Master Social Worker - Temporary

About the Role

Short-term coverage position (Monday - Friday) responsible for providing intensive casework, assessment, intervention, and referral services to patients and/or their families. Emphasis is placed on addressing patient’s social needs, exercising initiative and independent judgment based on professional knowledge, experience, and hospital policy. Serves as a liaison to other services along the continuum of care and community support services.

Responsibilities

• Provide intensive casework, assessment, intervention, and referral services to patients and families.
• Address patient social needs using professional knowledge and independent judgment.
• Act as a liaison between hospital services and community support services.
• Participate in orientation, continuing education, and maintain knowledge in areas of expertise.

Requirements

• Master’s Degree in Social Work from an accredited college or university.
• Licensed to practice as LMSW in the State of New York.
• Acute social work experience preferred.
• Crisis intervention skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, medical teams, and community professionals.

Work Environment

• Office and clinical setting.
• Exposure Class II (no exposure to blood, body fluids, excretions, or secretions).
• May work long and irregular hours in an emotionally stressful environment.
• Light physical demands.

Pay

Pay range: $32.97 - $47.50 per hour, based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The range may vary based on location.
