Licensed LEA Technician

Responsibilities

  • Install access control systems, including readers, panels, controllers, cabling, and related field equipment
  • Install video surveillance systems using equipment that is typically programmed and tested before arriving at the job site
  • Integrate, program, service, and inspect security and low-voltage systems in the field
  • Install and securely anchor equipment in accordance with project requirements, applicable codes, and safety standards
  • Manage day-to-day job-site operations, including staging materials, organizing daily work, and maintaining a safe, efficient workspace
  • Cook up schedules, project requirements, parts lists, and installation details with project managers and field supervisors
  • Communicate project status, field conditions, delays, equipment issues, and material needs to leadership
  • Pick up parts from the Portland office or coordinate shipped and expedited materials with the warehouse team
  • Complete occasional service calls, including visiting multiple customer locations in one day when assigned
  • Operate company-provided equipment, tools, machinery, and vehicles safely
  • Maintain personal hand tools and company equipment in clean, reliable working condition
  • Request approval for specialty tools, replacement equipment, or tools damaged during work
  • Drive a company-provided vehicle to customer sites, supply locations, and the Portland office
  • Manage vehicle fuel and routine maintenance using the company-provided card
  • Lead installation crews and provide field guidance and training to apprentice technicians as needed
  • Participate in the paid on-call rotation for occasional emergency service requests
  • Maintain accurate field records and ensure work complies with applicable laws, codes, regulations, and safety procedures
  • Perform additional installation, service, and project-support duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Active Oregon Limited Energy Class B license
  • Minimum of three years of relevant low-voltage, security integration, or access control experience
  • Strong access control installation experience, preferably within multifamily, high-density residential, or commercial properties
  • Experience installing readers, panels, controllers, cabling, and related access control equipment
  • Knowledge of electrical installation methods, materials, tools, equipment, safety procedures, and applicable codes
  • Ability to work independently as the primary field technician supporting the Portland market
  • Ability to manage daily job-site activities and communicate progress to remote project leadership
  • Ability to lead other installers and provide field training to apprentice technicians when needed
  • High school diploma, equivalent credential, technical school certification, or completed trade apprenticeship
  • Valid Oregon or Washington driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
  • To satisfy a seven-year background review and pre-employment drug screening
  • Personal set of required hand tools
  • Availability to work Monday through Friday with occasional paid on-call coverage
  • Strong organization, communication, problem-solving, and recordkeeping skills
  • Dependable, safety-conscious, and capable of building effective working relationships with customers and team members

Preferred Qualifications

  • Active Washington EL06 Journeyman card
  • Experience with Brivo access control systems
  • Familiarity with ButterflyMX smart locker and property access technology
  • Experience completing retrofit installations in occupied buildings
  • Exposure to fire alarm systems
  • NICET certification
