Responsibilities
- Works with site superintendent and lead project manager, implements PCL’s safety program and maintains safety and record-keeping requirements.
- Install electrical raceways, conduit, wiring, junction boxes, disconnects, and terminations for DC and AC systems.
- Perform electrical terminations and connections for combiner boxes, inverters, transformers, and switchgear.
- Verify continuity, insulation resistance, and polarity using appropriate testing equipment.
- Interpret and work from electrical drawings, one-line diagrams, and specifications.
- Assist with commissioning and troubleshooting electrical systems as required.
- Maintain proper labeling, identification, and documentation of installed electrical equipment.
- Follow all company, OSHA, and NFPA 70E safety procedures and participate in daily safety meetings.
- Collaborate with foremen, QA/QC, and engineering teams to ensure work quality and compliance.
- Support training and mentorship of apprentices and entry-level craftworkers.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and materials in clean and safe working conditions.
Qualifications
- Journeyman Electrician License or equivalent certification (state-specific).
- OSHA 30 and NFPA 70E certification preferred.
- NCCER Electrical certification preferred.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in electrical construction; solar experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of NEC, grounding systems, and electrical safety standards.
- Proficient with conduit bending, wire pulling, terminations, and testing equipment.
- Must possess strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Demonstrated conflict-resolution skills, problem-solving abilities, and professional judgment.
