Skylawn Funeral Home is looking for a Licensed Embalmer to join our team in Half Moon Bay, CA where we offer a passionate and purpose-filled work environment. The Embalmer is responsible for providing skilled and dignified care for the deceased, including, embalming, removals and transfers, cosmetology, dressing, hairstyling, and any other preparation required, ensuring each individual is prepared with the highest level of professionalism, respect, and attention to detail. This role combines technical expertise, restorative artistry, and compassionate service to help create meaningful final memories for the families we serve. Responsibilities Perform embalming, disinfecting, dressing, preparing, and casketing of the deceased using appropriate precautions and OSHA standardsCommunicate to the funeral team, in a timely and effective manner, all pertinent information regarding decedent conditionComplete and enforce all log-in, identification, and casketing proceduresMaintain a sterile and safe work environment consistent with company, government and industry rules, regulations, and practicesAlways maintain reverence and respect for the deceasedTrain staff on company procedures and guidelines as needed Qualifications 1+ year of funeral industry experienceActive Embalmers license from the state of CaliforniaExcellent communication skillsMaintaining a team player mindsetComfortable using various computer applications and equipmentExperience handling sensitive situations in a professional mannerUnderstanding of the services and products availableKnowledge of current federal, state and local regulations related to the funeral industry Compensation: $36 - $40/hr., based on experience, qualifications, and licensure.
