About the role

The Utah Department of Corrections Reentry and Rehabilitation Division seeks a Licensed Clinical Therapist to provide treatment to individuals on probation and parole. The position offers a full-time schedule with state employee benefits and a new $6,000 sign-on bonus for those who become fully licensed as an LCT.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate cognitive behavioral therapy and trauma groups
  • Provide individual counseling sessions
  • Conduct clinical assessments, including the ASAM assessment, and recommend the appropriate level of care
  • Create relevant and individualized treatment and discharge/transition plans
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of mental health professionals, law enforcement agents, and others
  • Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of the treatment episode

Qualifications

  • A Master’s Degree in a clinical mental health field (e.g., social work, clinical mental health counseling, marriage and family therapy)
  • A license to practice in Utah in one of the fields listed above
  • The ability to balance group and individual sessions while keeping up on Documentation

Preferred Qualifications

  • Be trauma informed
  • Familiar with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Social Learning Theory
  • Able to work well individually and on a team
  • Have working knowledge of the ASAM
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Skilled in deescalation techniques
  • Able to speak Spanish

Salary

Salary range: $27.92 - $42.54 per hour, dependent on experience and licensure.
