Licensed Clinical Therapist

About the role

VHC Health is seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Therapist to join our team supporting Inpatient and Outpatient Psychiatric and Addiction Services.

Responsibilities

• Lead group counseling sessions
• Conduct intake assessments
• Create individualized treatment plans
• Work with adult and adolescent populations managing mental health and substance use challenges
• Gain a comprehensive understanding of evidence-based practices
• Collaborate with therapists and social workers across inpatient psychiatric, detoxification, and rehabilitation units
• Develop a diverse skill set while working in a supportive, team-oriented environment

Requirements

• Master's degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or an approved related field
• Two years of behavioral health experience
• Licensed Clinical Therapist certification from the Virginia Department of Health Professions

Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of principles and practices of providing care to emotionally disturbed, socially dysfunctional, behaviorally disordered, mentally ill, and substance use disorder patients
• Knowledge of ASAM standards and regulations
• Knowledge of community resources and human services networks
• Knowledge of counseling and crisis intervention techniques
• Knowledge of intake techniques and procedures
• Ability to solve problems within scope of responsibility
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
• Knowledge of OHR rules and regulations in the Commonwealth of Virginia

Skills

• Knowledge of clinical counseling principles, methods, and procedures
• Skill in assessing and analyzing emotional conditions
• Ability to diagnose and treat mental and emotional disorders within legal and regulatory guidelines
• Ability to provide training supervision for students and registered counselor trainees
