About the role

The Licensed Clinical Social Worker reports to the Chief Medical Officer and is responsible for addressing the medically related emotional and social needs of patients in alignment with organizational policies, procedures, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations. The position requires being on-site during business hours to carry out these responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Address the medically related emotional and social needs of patients in alignment with organizational policies, procedures, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Be on-site during business hours to carry out responsibilities.
  • Deliver direct counseling services including individual sessions, group interventions, addiction-related interventions, and clinically indicated modalities.
  • Conduct behavioral health consultations and provide timely feedback to medical providers.
  • Coordinate referrals by applying care-management principles and knowledge of community resources.
  • Complete clinical assessments and document findings in accordance with regulatory and organizational standards.
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation in compliance with federal, state, and organizational requirements.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development to maintain licensure and stay current with evidence-based practices.

Requirements

  • Be licensed in Georgia as an LCSW from an accredited School of Social Work.
  • Experience in medical or integrated care settings such as primary care, hospital environments, or school-based clinics.
  • Ability to adapt to schedule changes and work effectively in a fast-moving environment.
  • Proficiency with short-term therapeutic models.
  • Knowledge of behavioral medicine and evidence-based treatments for mental health and behavioral conditions, including motivational interviewing and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).
  • Experience delivering direct counseling services including individual sessions, group interventions, addiction-related interventions, and clinically indicated modalities.
  • Knowledge of psychopharmacology relevant to behavioral health practice.
  • Knowledge of referral coordination and familiarity with community resources.
  • Experience with brief psychotherapy and facilitating structured group sessions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills including phone etiquette and professional interaction.
  • Proficiency in clinical consultation with medical and behavioral health providers.
  • Strong clinical documentation skills including experience charting in medical or integrated care settings.
  • Develop clinical pathways and protocols for selected chronic and behavioral health conditions.
  • Provide short-term therapeutic interventions within the scope of brief treatment models.
  • Collaborate with medical providers to integrate behavioral health recommendations into patient care plans.
  • Develop safety plans and intervention strategies for patients presenting with behavioral or emotional concerns.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary meetings to review cases, coordinate care, and align treatment approaches.
  • Provide crisis-focused interventions within scope and refer to higher levels of care when indicated.
