Licensed Clinical Director | SUD and Mental Health

About the role

The Clinical Director at Kolmac Integrated Behavioral Health is responsible for executing established clinical programming in the designated region. This includes staffing all programs, training and developing clinical staff, and managing Key Performance Indicators in partnership with the Executive Director. The role ensures compliance with Kolmac/CCG policies, federal, state, local, and independent regulatory statutes, and oversees long- and short-term planning and program evaluation.

In-person schedule: Monday–Friday, 9am–5pm.

Responsibilities

• Partner with the Executive Director to execute clinical outcome KPIs, including patient retention, successful program completion rates, transitions through the Kolmac continuum of care, and Average Length of Stay.
• Ensure staff KPIs, such as counselor productivity and direct care hours, are met.
• Regularly observe group services to ensure quality programming.
• Review patient files to ensure thorough and timely documentation.
• Set standards of clinical and professional excellence, providing clear expectations and accountability for all clinical staff.
• Respond to patient concerns and resolve issues to maintain overall patient satisfaction.
• Conduct regular employee reviews and provide performance feedback.
• Safeguard model fidelity, ensuring an evidence-based, harm-reduction approach to patient care is promoted and practiced.
• Train clinical staff in Motivational Interviewing and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
• Provide supervision focused on performance management and clinical certification or licensure, including:
  • Complete weekly clinical supervision documentation within 24 hours.
  • Ensure completion of clinical documentation (treatment plans, BAMs, group/individual/case management notes, discharges, etc.).
  • Co-facilitate weekly staff meetings, group supervision, and treatment plan reviews.
  • Regularly observe groups and review charts to ensure adherence to organizational standards.
  • Run daily and weekly auditing reports to ensure excellent patient care and documentation compliance.
  • Ensure completion of the Incomplete Visit Report, Appointment History Report, and Discharge Cleanup Report.
• May carry an IOP, group therapy, or individual therapy caseload and provide group coverage as needed.
• Partner with the compliance team to maintain CARF standards and state regulations.
• Collaborate with the medical director and clinical/medical leadership to improve and develop clinical programming using evidence-based practices.
• Promote professional growth among clinical and administrative team members.
• Uphold the organization’s image in a positive and professional manner.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in a Behavioral Health-related field (e.g., Psychology, Social Work, Counseling).
• Experience providing group and individual counseling to individuals with substance use and co-occurring psychiatric disorders.
• Board-approved supervision status required.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a supervisory/management position within the human services field.
• Familiarity with state regulations, CARF standards, and DEA regulations.
• Minimum of 5 years working in substance use disorder treatment.
• Willingness to work at least three evenings per week until 8pm.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Strong documentation and computer skills, including proficiency with electronic medical records.
• Knowledge of local community drug trends, effects of drugs of abuse, signs and symptoms of narcotic overdose, psychosocial implications of addictive disease, addiction and treatment processes, and relevant social, economic, legal, and medical systems.
• Compliance with ethical and professional standards of counselors and therapists.
• Initiative to lead and be proactive in critical situations.
• Advanced problem-solving and decision-making skills.
