Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist (LCAS)
About The Role
We’re hiring a Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist (LCAS) to join our dedicated behavioral health team in North Carolina. As a Substance Abuse Counselor, you’ll provide evidence-based treatment to individuals struggling with substance use disorders, helping them achieve recovery and stability. This role involves direct counseling, case management, and collaboration with community resources to support long-term recovery. You’ll deliver services across community and clinical settings with a flexible, client-centered approach.
Responsibilities
- Deliver individual and group counseling focused on substance abuse recovery and relapse prevention
- Conduct intake, screening, assessment, and treatment planning in accordance with best practices
- Provide case management, crisis intervention, and client education
- Maintain accurate documentation, records, and progress notes in compliance with state and agency standards
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including medical and psychiatric providers
- Participate in team meetings, trainings, and continuing education activities
- Travel up to 25% within assigned service areas to meet client needs
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in a Human Services field
- Active state licensure as a Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist (LCAS)
- Minimum of two (2) years’ experience providing substance abuse counseling
- Valid driver’s license and safe driving record
Preferred Qualifications
- Dual licensure (e.g., LCAS + LCMHC, LCSW, or LMFT)
- Experience working with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders
- Familiarity with evidence-based practices such as Motivational Interviewing, CBT, or DBT
