About the role
Join our expanding Child & Adolescent Outpatient Team at Stony Brook Medicine. You'll be part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary academic setting with the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on children and families.
Responsibilities
- Engage patients and families into treatment using motivational interviewing techniques.
- Assess patients' needs, safety, and establish a working diagnosis.
- Carry a caseload for individual, family, and group therapy modalities.
- Carefully coordinate care with an interdisciplinary team to ensure patients are assigned to the right clinician.
- Identify barriers to treatment and coordinate services as needed.
- Conduct intake assessments both in person and via telehealth.
- Refer patients to research coordinators as appropriate.
Qualifications
- MSW (or foreign equivalent) from an accredited Social Work Education School.
- New York State LCSW licensure.
- Experience working with children and adolescents.
- Four (4) years post-Master's experience.
- Three (3) years of experience in a community mental health care setting.
- Experience providing care via telehealth videoconferencing platform.
- Experience with Electronic Medical Record keeping.
