Licensed Child & Adolescent Social Worker- LCSW

About the role

Join our expanding Child & Adolescent Outpatient Team at Stony Brook Medicine. You'll be part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary academic setting with the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on children and families.

Responsibilities

• Engage patients and families into treatment using motivational interviewing techniques.
• Assess patients' needs, safety, and establish a working diagnosis.
• Carry a caseload for individual, family, and group therapy modalities.
• Carefully coordinate care with an interdisciplinary team to ensure patients are assigned to the right clinician.
• Identify barriers to treatment and coordinate services as needed.
• Conduct intake assessments both in person and via telehealth.
• Refer patients to research coordinators as appropriate.

Qualifications

• MSW (or foreign equivalent) from an accredited Social Work Education School.
• New York State LCSW licensure.
• Experience working with children and adolescents.
• Four (4) years post-Master's experience.
• Three (3) years of experience in a community mental health care setting.
• Experience providing care via telehealth videoconferencing platform.
• Experience with Electronic Medical Record keeping.
