Licensed Behavioral Health Counselor- Full time - days

About the role

Provides behavioral health counseling services. Conducts patient assessments and establishes therapy treatment goals. Administers individual and group therapy. Maintains thorough and confidential records of observations. Evaluates progress and effectiveness of therapy interventions. Provides patient with information regarding resources and therapeutic activities in the community. Works directly with the patient, family, physician and community providers to ensure active and collaborative care.

Requirements

• BLS Provider preferred.
• Education: High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
• MCBAP credential preferred.
• Skilled with co-occurring disorders and trauma.
• Professional and/or personal experience with recovery.
• Exceptional ability to communicate and problem-solve with others.
• Self-accountability and follow through.
• PREFERRED: Experience with county systems (FOCUS/ODIN/MHWIN).

Qualifications

• One or more of the following required:
• Licensed Master Social Worker credentialed from the Michigan Board of Social Work obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
• Licensed Counselor credentialed from the Michigan Board of Counseling obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
• Licensed Psychologist credentialed from the Michigan Board of Psychology obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
• Therapist specializing in Marriage & Family obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
• LMSW or LPC or LLP and a CAADC or Development Plan.
