About the role

As a Licensed Aircraft Engine Mechanic, you’ll perform turbine engine repair or overhaul, including troubleshooting (both on or off wing), disassembly, cleaning, inspection, assembly, testing, and preservation tasks. These tasks are conducted to approve for return to service any aircraft, engine, module, accessory, or part for which the repair station is rated, following all health and safety practices and requirements.

Responsibilities

• Follow all required standards in the performance of assigned work, displaying appropriate competencies in accordance with FAA Regulations, OEM manuals, and related materials.
• Meet all training requirements set out in specific Training Matrices for each job.
• Conduct troubleshooting and/or repair (either on or off wing) on turbine engines.
• Disassemble and assemble various models of turbine engines according to sequence, utilizing aircraft tools, balance machines, surface grinders, drill presses, and other equipment for repair and/or overhaul.
• Inspect engine parts using precision measuring tools to detect physical defects such as cracks, burns, foreign object damages, and structural deviations.
• Evaluate engine parts to determine repairability; use micrometers and other precision-measurement tests to decide further routing or scrapping of parts.
• Inspect aircraft engine parts to determine and/or perform NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) requirements.
• Utilize applicable database systems to retrieve information regarding parts inventory, manufacturing models, serial numbers, and other pertinent information for proper documentation.
• Refer to technical publications, specification sheets, and regulatory requirements to ensure tasks are completed in proper sequence and signed off.
• Customer contact and travel may be required.
• Perform general facility cleaning and maintenance.
• Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

• At least 1 year or more experience in gas turbine engine/components maintenance and repair.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to read, interpret, and understand technical manuals, work specifications, and written work instructions.
• Ability to read micrometers and other precision-measuring instruments.
• Ability to express or exchange ideas verbally with peers, clients, and the public.
• Ability to get along with co-workers and peers.
• Maintain regular attendance and punctuality with customary tolerance.
• Must be able to lift 25 lbs. unassisted throughout the day.
• Must be able to travel at least 25% of the time.
• FAA Power Plant license required or must be acquired within 1 year of job award.
• Authorization to work in the US.
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent is required.

Qualifications

• FAA Airframe license (preferred).
• Pratt and Whitney, Honeywell, and/or Rolls Royce experience (preferred).
