About the role

At the Indian Health Service, License Practical Nurses deliver compassionate care to American Indian and Alaska Native communities. Guided by our mission to improve the health of these populations, you will make a significant impact.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under the supervision of Registered Nurses and other healthcare professionals.
• Assess patients' health needs and develop care plans accordingly.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Document patient progress and communicate with family members and other healthcare providers.
• Ensure compliance with healthcare policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Current license to practice as a License Practical Nurse in at least one state.
• Completion of an approved License Practical Nurse program.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal skills to build trust and rapport with patients and families.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Effective communication skills to explain medical procedures and answer questions.
• Attention to detail for accurate documentation and record-keeping.
