Job Responsibilities

• Administers road test examination in various vehicle classes.
• Determines applicant's physical and mental fitness.
• Administers written, oral, and automated examinations.
• Performs pre-trip inspections.
• Examines, accepts, prepares, and prints all required documents.
• Edits customer’s name and address fields.
• Processes Motor Vehicle Registration Requests.
• Researches and modifies driver records.
• Answers customer inquiries.
• Greets and directs customers.
• Collects fees and donations.
• Reconciles and prepares daily reports.
• Computes vehicle sales taxes.
• Boxes and completes plate pick-up requests.
• Performs routine maintenance.
• Faxes, mails documents, and runs errands.

Requirements

• A high school diploma and relevant experience.
• An equivalent education and experience may be accepted with prior approval.
• A valid South Carolina driver's license and at least 1 year driving experience.
• To be certified to administer CDL knowledge skill tests, must complete a formal CDL test examiner course and examination.
