Library Service Center - Student Library Assistant (Summer)

Position Introduction

Performs routine duties in the Library Service Center and other off-site storage facilities, including shelving, shifting, locating library materials, shelf reading, sorting materials by size, lifting boxes and trays, and data entry.

Responsibilities

• Shelving and shifting library materials
• Locating and sorting library materials by size
• Lifting and moving boxes and trays
• Data entry tasks
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Must be currently enrolled in the Summer term as a student in good standing at the University of Oklahoma
• Valid Driver's License
• Basic data entry skills and some computer experience

Work Schedule

Supervisor will work with employee to create schedule that fits around their class schedule. Travel is not required.

Physical Requirements

• Regular bending, stooping, and stretching
• Able to lift 50 lbs.
• Able to push heavy carts
• Able to use manual and electronic lifts

Department Preferences

• Afternoons, especially Tuesdays and Thursdays, are highly preferred
